Policies, strategies and service provision

The strategic objectives of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation are:

 

  1. Registering patients with organ failure, organ recipients, and organ donors, and monitoring them and establishing the necessary procedures for that.

  2. Receiving and following up on reports of brain death cases in individuals in intensive care units, and coordinating the retrieval of organs after obtaining the necessary approvals and distributing them to transplantation centers in various health facilities in the Kingdom.

  3. Coordinating with relevant authorities to transport medical teams to different regions in and outside the Kingdom to retrieve and transplant organs for patients.

  4. Collaborating and coordinating with health entities in the field of organ transplantation, both within and outside the Kingdom.

  5. Preparing and updating the necessary procedures for organ transplantation from living donors in accordance with Islamic regulations.

  6. Preparing and updating the necessary procedures for organ transplantation from living donors in accordance with Islamic regulations.

  7. Monitoring and following up on technical programs, and regularly evaluating and following up on these facilities with the relevant authority.

  8. Preparing administrative and financial regulations for the employees, researchers, and collaborators of the center.

  9. Organizing courses, conferences, and education and training programs in the field of organ failure, organ transplantation, and donation at the local and global levels, including holding rehabilitation programs.

  10. Providing health awareness and education programs to the community in the field of organ failure, organ transplantation, and donation.

  11. Publishing a specialized scientific journal in the field of organ transplantation, focusing on organ failure, donation, and transplantation.

  12. Participating in scientific research related to organ transplantation and organ failure, both within and outside the Kingdom.

  13. Collaborating with charitable organizations to care for patients with organ failure.
