Praise be to God Almighty The program of caring for patients with final organic failure and the practice of organ transplantation operations of all kinds continues to confirm the development of the quality of health services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which was based on a scientific perspective, statistics and studies as well as ethics that drew the Kingdoms site through the participation of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation in various scientific, global and regional conferences .
The year 1437 AH witnessed many effective achievements, the most prominent of which was the increase in the total number of transplanted organs, especially through donation after death, which reached 265 organ transplantation, including the transplantation of 125 kidneys, 69 livers, 29 hearts, (31) lungs, (11) pancreas,
The same applies to tissue culture, which this year reached 38 tissues (including 61 bones, 10 heart valves and 12 muscle ligaments).
The year 1437 AH also witnessed many distinguished achievements that are summarized in the representation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the level of regional and international conferences, including the organization of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation at its headquarters in Riyadh and in cooperation with the Intensive Care Department of King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh during Saturdays and Sundays 5-6 Safar 1438 AH, corresponding to November 5-6, 2016 CE, the first training seminar that includes simulation and virtual training on the diagnosis and medical care of brain death cases. The Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation participated in the activities of the fifteenth conference of the Middle East Society for Organ Transplantation (Amman - Jordan).
I take this opportunity to extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to all those who have contributed with us to support this national program, on top of whom are the rulers of the matter (may God protect them) and to His Royal Highness Prince / Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz (Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense - may God protect him) for his great role What is distinctive about the inclusion of the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation initiatives within the National Transformation Initiatives 2020 AD, through which many important programs will be implemented to serve patients with final organic failure in the Kingdom, as well as thanks to Their Highnesses the princes and His Excellency the Minister of Health for their distinguished roles in supporting the Centers efforts and thanks to businessmen and charitable institutions .
I must commend the Prince / Fahd Bin Salman Charitable Association for the Care of Patients with Kidney Failure (both of us) and the accurate and distinctive follow-up from His Royal Highness Prince / Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz (God bless him), the General Supervisor of the Society, regarding the activation and implementation of many programs For revitalizing the practice of organ donation and transplantation.
In conclusion, I would like to point out that the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation has put in place many important strategies in order to revitalize the organ transplantation program, hoping that it will bear fruit in the near future, God willing.
